Seasons

Annual Food Agenda organize throughout this year, 35 thematic events across 3 countries; Poland, Spain and United Kingdom, dissemination activities to achieve broad resonance and topic coverage aligned to the EIT Food’s objectives. These interactive events will inspire large numbers of people to dive in food topics, targeting the public, with particular focus on the younger population, food producers and food stakeholders.

The agenda includes a variety of activities such as interactive exhibitions, scientific cafes and hands-on activities marquees. Activities are designed to inspire debate and to foster dialogue between experts and consumers, using dynamics of co-creation to encourage exchange among academia, industry, producers and consumers in every-day environments.

The 32 scheduled activities are organized around four seasons developing relevant topics for the future of food:

Check your food following the steps of great microbiologists

UAM- IMDEA Food in the deployment of #AnnualFoodAgenda activities will join to the International Day of Women and Girls in Science 2020, with the workshop: "Check your food following the steps of great microbiologists" to be held at the Fundación Caldeiro School in Madrid, which will involve primary school students of 3rd, 4th, 5th grade.

UAM- IMDEA Food in the deployment of #AnnualFoodAgenda activities will join to the International Consumer Day 2020, with the workshop: “Play to know your food” to be held at IMDEA Food in Madrid, which will involve primary school students of 4th and 5th grade.

Trusting in food the fair “the key is the label

Within the activities of Madrid Gastrofestival, the consumer will focus on knowing the variety of analyses that are carried out before a product reaches the Market. There will be a talk about labels, chemistry, allergens and production with different workshops. Making the public have to choose between different products as explained and serve them in their day to day.

This season #AnnualFoodAgenda goes viral. Researchers from IARFR PAS and MASPEX experts will engage with consumers through an online educational campaign based on a series of specially designed infographics addressing the topics of food trust, healthy nutrition and sustainability.

Food Trends Market

Shopping has recently become a form of relaxation and entertainment. Thanks to visiting educational booths on “Food Trends Market” shopping can also turn into studying! “Food Trends Market” is a unique island in the shopping mall where visitors can learn trends in food and nutrition directly from researchers and food industry experts. Educational booths equipped with VR goggles and laboratory samples have been designed by scientists and food experts to showcase current and future trends in easy to remember way. Esteemed representatives of food science and industry will spend all day at the booths sharing their knowledge with visitors and answering all questions.

Food On Top

“Food On Top” #AnnualFoodAgenda will offer a series of interactive demonstrations, face-to-face meetings and co-creation activities shared by food researchers and consumers of all ages in a unique setting of Olsztyn’s Old Town. Together we will explore trends driving food-based innovations, including plant-based meat alternatives, personalised nutrition, eating local & cutting food miles, smart packaging, functional products and many other. What is more, the consumers will be encouraged to shift from passive recipients into change agents of the local and global food system. “Food On Top” will be a satellite event to the Science Picnic of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

World Food Day with EIT Food – intergenerational workshops
