On April 16th, educational workshops dedicated to students led by the representatives of the food industry (Maspex) and scientists from the Institute of Animal Reproduction and Food Research took place at the Cracow University of Economics in Cracow, Poland. The workshops were divided into two topical modules finished with a survey.
In the first module, students were informed about the latest news concerning current and foreseen food trends. Students were interested in “clean label” and “gluten-free” topics and they shared their experiences and doubts with Dr. Małgorzata Starowicz. Moreover, dr. Michał Janiak inspired students to share their opinion about among others super foods, artificial meat (lab grown meat), edible insects, valuable algae, 3D printed food and reusing the side streams and leftovers of food.
In the second step, students gained knowledge on how to consumers behavior is analyzed by Customer Marketing experts. Sylwia Kawaler and Katarzyna Tomiak-Jaszczołt showed a lot of examples of researches about customers and involved students in evaluation of customers behaviors.
In surveys after the workshops, all students evaluated the content of the workshops as interesting, and every participant declared that gained new information and will share this information with friends.
